George Villano Senior Managing Partner
George Villano joined Carter/MacKay in 1981. His initial focus as an Account Executive was to recruit sales and sales management positions within the computer and data communications industries. In 1985 he was appointed director of the company's Information Technology Group and launched the company's expansion into the software market. In 1993 he facilitated Carter/MacKay's initiative into emerging Internet technology companies. In addition to these responsibilities, Mr. Villano is actively involved in the company’s overall strategic direction and growth. Prior to joining Carter/MacKay, Mr. Villano was employed as a Sales Representative by Thomas J. Lipton Corp. from 1979 until 1981 and was a special education teacher at the High School level from 1977 until 1979. He is a graduate of Jersey City University where he received his BA in Special Education in 1976 and, after being awarded a fellowship, his MA in Secondary Education in 1977. Mr. Villano resides in Northern New Jersey with his wife and two daughters.

Michael Rowell Senior Managing Partner
Michael Rowell has been associated with Carter/MacKay since 1987, when the company expanded its operations by opening and office in Framingham, MA. Initially hired as an Account Executive to recruit sales, sales management and marketing positions within the healthcare industry, he was promoted in 1991 to manage the Massachusetts office. Prior to joining Carter/MacKay, Mr. Rowell was employed as a Sales Representative with Quincy Medical Supply Corp. from 1985 until 1987. He is a graduate from the University of New Hampshire where he received his BS in Health Care Administration in 1985. Mr. Rowell resides in Southeastern Massachusetts with his wife and five children.

Matt Gallo Senior Managing Partner
Matt Gallo joined Carter/Mackay in 1999. He was initially hired as an Account Executive out of our Massachusetts office focusing on the software markets in New England and Canada. Based on exceptional performance, Mr. Gallo was promoted in 2001 to nationally develop and expand Carter/MacKay’s coverage of the software and service markets. In 2007 he became Managing Partner and expanded his role to include Training, Business Development and Operations. Prior to joining Carter/ MacKay, he was employed as a Senior Consultant by First National Marketing, a retained executive search firm in the Boston area. Mr. Gallo received a BS in Management from Salem State College in 1996. He currently resides in suburban Boston with his wife and two children.

Karen Froio Managing Director—Healthcare
Karen Froio joined Carter/Mackay in 1995 as an Account Executive for Pharmaceutical / Medical Sales. In 1997 she was promoted to Division Manager where she has been instrumental in developing the National Healthcare recruiting team. In 2007, Karen was named Director of Healthcare Services and is expanding the division into MSL’s, Marketing, and Reimbursement Specialists. Prior to working for Carter/MacKay, Ms. Froio was employed as a Sales Representative with Infu-Tech from 1994 to 1995 and was an Exercise Test Technologist at Emerson Hospital (Concord, MA) from 1990 to 1994. She completed her graduate studies at the University of Miami and was awarded an MSEd in Exercise Science in 1990 after receiving her BS in Exercise Science from Southern Connecticut University in 1986.

Tom Padell Division Manager—Consulting and IT Services
Tom has enjoyed working with the team at Carter/MacKay, and placing senior business development and sales executives with top-tier IT Services and business consulting firms for the past 8yrs. Joining the firm to start the IT Services practice, Tom was promoted to Division Manager in 2008 and is heading a team focused on growing a national presence. Tom's 14+ years of search experience allow him to truly understand his client's business and provide insightful evaluations based on domain expertise. His clients have included EDS, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Capgemini, CSC, KPMG and mid-cap and start up organizations. Prior to joining Carter/MacKay, Tom worked in the Boston High Tech VC market, recruiting for world-class software startups. He Graduated from The University of Tampa. He resides South of Boston with his wife and 2 daughters.

Douglas Griffith Division Manager—Healthcare
Doug Griffith joined Carter/Mackay in 2004 as an Account Executive in our Pharmaceutical / Medical Sales division. He was quickly promoted to a Sr. Account Executive in 2005 and then to a Division Manager in 2007. In January 2010 Doug opened up our newest office in Charleston, SC. Prior to Carter/MacKay, Doug was as a Territory Sales Manager with Wyeth Pharmaceuticals from 2001 to 2004. He received his BA in Psychology from Johnson State College in 2000. Doug resides in Charleston, SC with his wife Regina and son Hank.

Mark D. Rios Division Manager—Scientific
Mark has been a part of the scientific division since 2005 where he started as an Account Executive specializing in the placement of Analytical Development Professionals in the Pharmaceutical Industry. Over the years he has built an extensive network of the industry's top talent and has been extremely successful in helping our clients make critical hiring decisions. In 2008, Mark was promoted to Manager of our Scientific Division. He has played an integral role in the development of our scientific recruiters and hopes to continue to grow our division. Mark resides in Bergen County NJ with his wife Amy and daughter Sabrina. In his spare time, he enjoys playing softball, biking and skiing.
